Gathman\`s Cottage offers you such tranquility but is also itself a period Grade II listed building, constructed over 200 years ago. The characterful cottage has real homely charm . The cottage is beamed throughout, with quarry tiled floors downstairs and polished floorboards upstairs. It has been lovingly restored to retain the original features, but with the addition of mod cons.

There is a fenced garden, patio and outside furniture. The views over the peaceful landscape allow total relaxation and the cottage ambience is one of rural isolation and complete tranquility.

Rates vary depending on the time of year, from £350 to £600 per week.

Location of Gathman\`s Cottage
Gathman\`s cottage is situated on a large working family farm.The farm is mixed, growing arable crops and having a herd of beef suckler cows; cows and calves graze around the cottage. The peaceful rolling countryside of this part of Lincolnshire is little-known and quite unspoilt.

We are close to the Lincolnshire Wolds, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Wolds have miles of footpaths and bridleways for walking, cycling or riding. The Viking Way long distance footpath runs close by.

There are several excellent golf courses, including the Championship course at Woodhall Spa, which is also the home of the English Golfing Union.

The Lincolnshire Coast has miles of unspoilt, sandy beaches as well as the well-known resorts such as Mablethorpe and Skegness.

Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve, with renowned bird watching, is near Skegness. At the quiet resort of Sandilands is a well-equipped beach chalet , available for hire, at a modest charge. Baumber, being in the centre of the county, is in an excellent position to explore the county\`s interesting market towns.

The Historic Cathedral City of Lincoln is 17 miles away, and the medieval port of Boston, and its\` famous church and tall lantern tower, known as \"Boston Stump,\" is 18 miles away. Gathman\`s Cottage is a wonderful place for an activity holiday, a little culture, or simply relaxing.

How to find us:
Gathman\`s Cottage lies in the village of Baumber, 4 miles due west of Horncastle and 17 miles east of Lincoln, on the A158. From Lincoln on the A158, entering the linear villiage of Baumber, turn sharp right, soon after the Red Lion Public House, down a narrow, unmade and unnamed lane.
